FARR – Finnish Association for Rehabilitation and Recreation
FARR – Finnish Association for Rehabilitation and Recreation was established in 1951. It is a national, non-profit-making association that provides rehabilitation and recreation for the public good. FARR promotes public health and the right to an independent, dignified and equal life for everyone. Vision: FARR is a nationally important provider and developer of rehabilitation and recreation services. "Kunnonpaikka" is a rehabilitation, research and recreation center owned by FARR. It is located in Siilinjärvi, near the city of Kuopio in eastern Finland, by the beautiful Lake Kallavesi. FARR provides subsidized holidays for those who have a special need for one, but without assistance, would not be able to. The holidays take place at the spa hotel "Kunnonpaikka" or in other holiday resorts in Finland. FARR has developed and introduced new rehabilitation and recreation courses and projects for clients of all ages. FARR also carries out several rehabilitation and recreation projects every year in co-operation with other organizations.
